I knew it wasn't Action! Photography! but I had no idea it was from a film. I thought it was just a photo from training or something.

I wish I could remember the title - it's from some movie that starred actual WWI veterans, so at least they knew how to make the getting shot look convincing.

I've spent some time, too much time really, looking at the guy in the foreground, trying to see what's happening to him. I finally just decided, "Unidentified gross trauma," cut in half, etc.

I'm very pleased to hear that it's staged.
