"A typical line from the press materials for CK in2u goes like this: “She likes how he blogs, her texts turn him on. It’s intense. For right now.”"

It looks like some bizarre hipster parlor game. "Touch The Monkey,: and he's it.

oh, yeah, all my "grunge" friends, with their 25 cent flannel shirts and $2 jeans from goodwill were all spending $40 on PERFUME. what a fucking tool that NYT writer is. just because the CK marketing director says it doesn't make it true.

I was confused by that, too. I'm sure the writer is implying the fashion industry and mainstream population of 90s culture, not the *actual* grunge people who influenced them. The flannel and homeless vibe on the runways in 92 or 93 were not exactly a true reflection of that culture anyway. Then grunge was declared dead shortly after by the very people who exploited it.
Losers!

Speaking of which, I am going to make a Where's Waldo-esque picture book including the killing fields of Sierra Leone and make a colorforms transfer of Cory Kennedy and you can put her in new kinds of awkward situations. None of this NYC meatpacking hipster shit.

Fun!
