This is fucking comedy gold.

Clinton spray-painting a hammer and sickle! That's right, the guy who got rid of welfare as we knew it, eroded access to abortion services, starved hundreds of thousands of Iraqi kids, signed the Defense of Marriage Act, and gave Wall Street whatever they wanted was a commie. Since Clinton was a boomer who tried pot and participated in a few anti-war demonstrations, he was a dangerous sixties radical.

It's a sign of the dreadful neofascist mess we're in that Bill Clinton, who was an Eisenhower Republican, has been defined as the extreme left.

Eisenhower got America out of the Korean War, insured that the working class received a lot of the benefits of the 50's economic boom, and reined in the most extreme red-baiters in his own party. For an American President, Eisenhower was a relatively sane, decent man. Clinton was no Eisenhower.

I wasn't around for Eisenhower, although I can't say I admire the way he treated Marshall or let McCarthy run riot.

My point was that Clinton was essentially an Eisenhower-era liberal republican, which is as far left as Democrats are allowed any more. Whether he in particular was superior or inferior to Dwight D. is another question.

The point that I was trying to get across, which I muddled, was that in some important respects Clinton was way to the right of Eisenhower. For the working class the Clinton years represented a major decline in their economic standing. He presided over an exploding prison population.

Yeah, it's harder to imagine Eisenhower making a special trip to preside over the execution of a retarded guy just to make some "conservative points".

What is it with right-wing nutjobs that they keep riding us lefties about Clinton? Don't they realize that he hasn't been in office for a while?

According to the site, both of these paintings were done in 1998, when Clinton was still in office.

Don't miss more recent paintings showing George Bush carved into Mount Rushmore!
