You need to kill and rob another 1,000 Jews before you get to sack Constantinople.

None of the peasants admit to serving Satan. Torture again?

Not sure what this guy's talking about, but Holy Lands is a game for Christian teens to create characters that fight demons. It's a fantasy game, barely historical, and barely political. It's actually a very cool game.

You know, I uttered variations of that sentence every time some shreiking, ignorant Christian told me that playing Dungeons and Dragons was going to send me to hell.

I guess it's OK when YOU do it, then?

It's ok for Christians if the fundamentals are Christian, not polytheistic dieties, sorcerery, thievery, and assassinations. You guys here obviously have some anger for Christians, which I can't say I entirely blame you, but use a little common sense on this one.

The game master, who plays everything outside of the characters, good and bad. Are just angry, and this game gives you something to blame? It's ok. I was there once, too.

Please don't give us that "I was once there" patronizing bullshit.

What, you mean if someone is a Christian then they won't make fun of a computer game? Is this game a sacrament, or something? Do you even read what you type?

People like you is why I can't call myself a Christian any more. Go pray to the fish sticker on your SUV and shut up.

I'm sorry you're so angry, I was there once ;-) Holy Lands is just a game. You were just being rude, so I thought I'd stand up for how it really is. Stop being such a bully, you're scaring me :-)

Here is the deal. teh funny is as follows: Christians hate X, and later malform X into a streamlined Christain activity, that survives as a basterd mockery of what it once was. Role Playing, Skating, Heavy Metal, (all the fun stuff pastor blow job told you would land you in hell)etc...

Its akin to our African American friends calling each other Ni**er, to in part "take the power back", and they all just look like assholes saying Ni**er.

p.s. i just rolled a 16 on the ol' 20 sided di, which grants you the enchanted stone of martyredom. Fight on you brave knight o' columbus

People should definitely consult you geniuses first before attempting any kind of moral stand. Here they were trying to do the right thing when it was you guys here on this board who had it all together, mistake-free! The fact is that many Christians have (at least tried to) touch your lives in a very positive way, selflessly, lovingly, and not for any other reason than to share a love with you. But you want to hate and be miserable and judge, which is human nature, because someone said they were a Christian and did the same thing. I will fight on.

Looks like you've judged us pretty good. Thanks for the selection of youth pastor catch phrases.

I was a Christian for ten years. Why do you assume that no one talking to you knows anything? Why did you judge us to be hateful? The reason I can't be in fellowship with so-called Christians any longer is self-righteous people like you and your "moral stands."

You can't mix up sarcasm "geniuses" and blather about "love" in the same argument, it makes you look like a hypocritical jackass.

I made a joke about a video game, so we're full of "hate". Hey, check it. I bet many gays, Arabs, Jews, and atheists have (or at least tried to) touch your life in a very positive way. So stop with the hate and the killing. Then come back here and talk about "love", maybe this time without mixing it up with insults.

Sorry to seem like a hypocritical jackass, it's just irritating. I guess I need to realize you guys just want something to rip on - no big deal. I don't hate or kill anyone, even in Holy Lands. You fight demons in the game, killing another human is murder. War is war, though, as it was and always will be. You win or you lose, and it gets ugly. But you help and protect individual people regardless of there religion and anything else (self-defense is different). Look, I'll leave you all alone, I am obviously out-numbered and stirring up some ill feelings. I don't want to be responsible for that.

Oh please don't leave!

I simply have to hear you attempt to justify how a Christian who roleplays an anti-Christian character is in less metaphysic al danger than a person who roleplays a D&D character. Please. Between this and exploding zambonis, I'm gonna be laughing for a week.

Well, since you insist I not leave, I will conclude. The game master plays the demons, sorcerers, and what not to create a scenario for the characters to accomplish a greater good (ie. the demons are killed, the sorcerer is saved, etc.) They don't play the evil against the characters in hopes of dominating them, although it happens. I hope this gives y'all something to celebrate about. Carry on, and have a blessed Christmas.

sticking a crucifix sticker on something the church condemns is in no way doing the right thing, or reaching out, or being a Christian.

That is called marketing to an audience that has money, and is easily swayed by religious tchochkes.

The fact is, i might have considered Christianity as a wonderful religion, if it weren't so full of hot brained dynamatards.

but back to the point, role playing is evil, Evil EVIL. and i guarantee you that within the next year, some other faction of Christianity will label this game satan worship under the the guise of Christianity. damn where is jack chick when you need him!

What point is there to a moral stand, if there are no opposing arguments?

...selflessly, lovingly, and not for any other reason than to share a love with you.

Well, yeah. I know a few good ones.

But you want to hate and be miserable and judge...

Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black, too me.

...which is human nature,...

What are you, 17? A 19 year old philosophy major?

...because someone said they were a Christian...

Good point on the moral stand, just trying to counter a shrieking, ignorant anti-Christian. Not miserable, just trying to share my point of view with what seems to be ignorance. I'm really leaving this time, unless you insist I stay again ;-)

Christ never judged, or hated,(well yes there was that ONE time with the money changers), but he was in his late teens early twenty's then. Also the point of that outbreak, and most of his preaching was that, the church is a farce.

These people want your money, and any influence you have to increase their political powers. These people are not with God. Many people use God to forward an agenda. This agenda may be as significant as human rights, or as insignificant as a fantasy game played by children, or adults who seek some escape.

Understanding the message of Christ means that you understand that, this man did not condemn criminals, prostitutes, or tax collectors. This man, Christ, was pro-all-humanity, sans-charlatans. A sinner who is honest with himself, is blessed. A self righteous, short-sighted, un-holy man using the name of his lord and savior to condemn those he disagrees with, are no better than the men who nailed Jesus to the cross themselves. The man who gives his life its only meaning based on misleading gospels of Christ, spouted by men in funny hats, and lacks purpose of his own, because of an inability to be either analytical or truly spiritual on his own God given merits, must be the biggest disappointment that Jesus had faced while dieing on the cross. To know that perverse humans would twist his words to be judgmental, rude, shallow, demented, and totally lacking of grace and decency must have been the real reason that he wept tears of blood in the garden.

The pain and suffering of death, pales to the suffering of knowing that your name shall be used to represent all behavior that you find reprehensible from this day forward.

Did I just hear you say AMEN? Deluded freak.

Fan of Truth,

Yeah you saw my signature, cause it's free and I make no lame excuses for myself!
