The cats of my experience mostly only catch songbirds, then leave them headless at the door as "presents". Ig's cat must be one damn good hunter, and hungry to boot.
The cat of a friend of mine did something similar with a sock after one of her kittens died. It was pretty fucking sad. But I take it Pouss has never had a pregnancy, disastrous or otherwise?
