brainflak has a fighting cane that is quite useful: an ideal walking aid, plus a wide enough hook to grab an assailant around the neck, and parts of the length of it are worked to allow for a good grip when using it as a bludgeon. Do not mess with cane fighters, man, they'll mess you up.

Now I must go learn to knit, for surely, I must have that hat.
