Fresh garlic is a gift of Nature, amazing stuff.

Basil and mint are good to grow, because they're tasty and unkillable. Mint sometimes is a bit too unkillable and you get a Sorcerer's Apprentice effect.

Yeah, we planted no mint this year and yet there is much mint; the previous tenants must have had mint.

I've had tremendous results this year from basil I planted in seed, rather than putting in plants. Now I have a forest of it. And the same with the parsley and cilantro. Unfortunately, moles got my dill and catnip.
