y'know - there are a lot of reasons why someone might be skinny (not just mental illness). And Cate has always always been thin, so she only needs to lose -oh 5 lbs - to go from skinny to skeletal.
I've always been thin, and now I'm skinny, and I've been skeletal. And it was never on purpose, but I get accused of that all the time. Any stress at all, and my appetite goes out the window.
Naturally thin people have it no easier, physically speaking, than naturally chubby people, when it comes to controlling our weight/appearance. My high metabolism and natural rejection of fatty foods makes it as difficult for me to gain weight (once I lose it) as another person's slow metabolism and comfort from food makes it difficult for them to lose weight (after they've gained it).
