That's what we were told to do at the library where I used to work. And I made a point to stay up on partiot act lit.

In a strange way the patriot act seems to have invigorated our profession, as we have been reminded of the intellectual freedom roots of what public libraries are supposed to be about. Some librarians needed this kick in the ass.

My library deletes/destroys circulation records immediately upon return of materials.
