A decent savings account would return 4.2%

Wow, 4.2% is way better than decent, or at least it was a few months ago.

That's what my mom was getting from an ING Orange Savings Account most recently.

Your Personal Rate of Return for All Funds:
4.372%
01/01/2005 - 12/30/2005

I'd make so much more annually if I just paid of my credit cards. PHEH!

Ouchie.
I did, during the dotcombust have a negative return on my 401k. Luckily, I didn't have much in there so I didn't lose too much, but it was shocking nevertheless.

Well, that's better than the same value in parentheses or red.

I don't have stats on mine handy because (1) I have two different 401(k)s and an IRA; (2) one of those two is switching to a new provider this month, so is in some sort of limbo.

Come to think of it, I need to track down that old 401(k) and get it rolled over into something before all trace of that imploded near-dotcom-company completely disappears.

401(k)?
