I used to adore all Arabesque calligraphy, but now I think it's just too "on the nose", and "too much", and all those other art school phrases -- where all the ascenders are exactly too artily tall, and where the curves have all the organic warmth of a plastic cup-holder.

But that Sharaani guy sure does have his good moments:
