Today I went to the Mall and bought something from each of the three floors:
[Error: Irreparable invalid markup ('<ul<li>') in entry. Owner must fix manually. Raw contents below.]

Today I went to the Mall and bought something from each of the three floors:
<ul<li>3rd floor, Sport Chalet, pair of black Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars ($34.99).
<li>2nd floor, Borders Books & Music, Tomahawk's <em>Mit Gas</em> ($16).
<li>1st Floor, Tinderbox, Arturo Fuente Hemingway Short Story cigars. ($7 x 4 = $28).
</ul>
I haven't had a pair of Converse shoes in years. I feel relaxed in them.

The Mall, like all other Malls, has a "Yankee Candles" store in it. Do that many people buy expensive scented candles so that there can be one in each mall? Or is this a waxy Enron on the way, a mess of cooked books and cinnamon-cashew scented wax?

A friend owns a franchise for one of those candle stores in the San Diego area, and believe it or not, they are quite profitable. Most of the profit comes from the fact that the markup on that stuff is unbelievably high, and usually you get one 40'ish woman per day that comes in and blows $500+ and cleans out the store.

I can't believe that people have that much disposable income to blow that kind of money on candles. Heck, I'm Wiccan, and I can't use that many candles in a month. I don't understand it either.

I find the candles I get for $2.00 a box at Pic-n-Save work just as well as one that can be found for $2.00 each from candle stores, home stores, and hardware stores. It seems my oil lamp is much more cost effective, and just as cool for general ambiance.

And WHY do I have to pass by the smelly candle store every time I want to go to the Apple store?! Waaaa....

But are combination "cheesecake" and "popcorn" scented candles even approved for use in religion of any kind?

but... but...

Popcorn candles make baby stimpy cry. ;_;

Remind me to *look* at a Yankee Candle store someday, but never let me go in one. On another note, I actually saw a Pottery Barn! It's right in Yuppie Central on South Granville street. I've peeked through the windows, but I can't go in, it scares me too much. Like, I might catch middle age going in or something. "HERB! I GOTS TO HAVE SOME SLACKS! IT'S JUST COME OVER ME!" Yarrrrrgh.

Congrats on the Chucks... I got some red ones and black ones (and wear one of each sometimes). =) I get them from Baggins, which has *great* delivery, to the US as well. Next time you get some, you might want to check into them, because you might get a good deal with your Yankee Dollar. =) Honk!
