In the town where I grew up, there was once an item in the police blotter: A prankster (vandal, in the parlance of the Town Crier) had made a carboard silhouette of a cat, with eyes of reflector tape. They set it up in the middle of the road one night, and it disrupted traffic for about two hours as people swerved to avoid hitting it.
