Could you tell if the speaker meant "like" in the sense of "as if," i.e. sarcastically, or "like" in the sense of "for example"?

that sounds like something I always hear but I always write stuff like that off because the chances are REALLY HIGH that I am hearing it wrong. It is amusing though
