Hrm, I think the Labour Day weekend has always included "safe" in the description as far as I can remember -- possibly because most people in my neighbourhood were going to go camping and meet grizzly bears, fearful mountain cliffs, angry wasp nests, and subfreezing mountain lakes. Either that, or friendly Lake Leeches, just in time for school! Edmonton being the area it was (and still is), most people would load up on beer and drive as well. So yeah, in that sort of environment, I don't really have an objection to "safe" -- except from a Darwinist perspective.
