Is HDTV really that much more detailed than the 35mm film seen in any cinema? I suspect all these celebrities-will-need-new-makeup-technology stories popping up in the press are some kind of viral-marketing hype to create a buzz about HDTV and get people to buy it.

Selling HDTV is going to be hard. Especially for those of us who didn't want to see Britney even with a vaseline lens. Maybe this is all astroturf'd somehow.
