Under the general guidance of the Associate Vice President for Diversity, Human Resource Services and Risk Programs, the Manager of Diversity and Compliance is responsible for the administration of the University’s equity and diversity programs. Specific duties include handling investigations related to discrimination, sexual harassment, disability, and related matters; handling complaints filed with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Office of Civil Rights; and representing the University at depositions and hearings on equity. Planning, developing and implementing University-wide training and educational programs on equity, diversity, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), discrimination, sexual harassment and federally mandated affirmative action polices. The incumbent will assist the University in developing recruiting strategies by monitoring the diversity component in the recruitment and selection of department administrators, and in conjunction with the Office of Faculty Affairs assist in developing the diversity component for faculty recruitment and selection. Additional responsibilities include preparing the University’s Affirmative Action Plan; managing an analyst position and overseeing the production of statistical reports; and recommending and implementing programs and procedures to achieve the University’s diversity initiatives. Other duties include managing the Assistive Accommodations Fund and evaluating requests for reasonable accommodations. The candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Resource Management or related field (Master’s or Juris Doctor degree preferred) and five to seven years of progressively responsible EEO or HR Management experience including significant experience in handling various types of investigations related to sexual harassment and discrimination. Experience in a collective bargaining environment required.
