I remember reading once that homosexuality is widely accepted as a phase in a young man's life in Saudi society. But by the time you're 30, you better be married to a woman and making babies, dammit. I don't know how much that holds true for the rest of moslem and arabic states.

Al-Fatiha Foundation is a member of an international grassroots network of organizations dedicated to Muslims who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, questioning, those exploring their sexual orientation or gender identity, and other sexual and gender minorities."
Careful about how you define homosexuality. In North America, if you have sex with men outside of prison, you are supposed to have an "idenity" which is "gay" (or bi).
Not so in different countries. I've heard that in Latin America, you're only gay if you like to receive penetrative sex. If you're the top, it doesn't count.
Afghan society is particularly complicated (http://www.ipce.info/library_3/files/hale/lat_en.htm). It sounds like men in prison here.
