I would say it's kind of disturbing except for one thing .. forgetting Vietnam means repeating that whole chapter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Lai_massacre) of our history in Iraq (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/05/26/AR2006052602069.html).
It's a common mistake to think of war reenactments as glorifying war, when in fact they're a means of keeping those experiences fresh in our minds as a way of learning their lessons and passing them on. Those lessons are only ignored at our peril ..
