hurray the retirement of me!

My 401(k): Personal Rate of Return from 01/01/2005 to 04/26/2005 is -7.1%

This is going to be the best economic collapse EVER!

Whereas I sold out at the top of the market.

Heh.

Actually I didn't, of course. I have no assets to speak of.

Well, according to Dubya, us private citizens will do better than his gubment can do, so I guess this means they lost more than 7.1%.

It's like that all over. One of my 401(k) uses a balanced fund tied to my projected retirement date and that was around the loss for the last quarter.

So far my retirement fund gains are about the same if I stored my funds in a shoebox under the bed. The only thing that keeps me from just spending it is the fact that removing it requires vastly more paperwork than the shoebox would. To that end -- and only to that end -- it is a success.

If 7% of my money disappeared from a shoebox i'd go looking for vermin.
