Since it's that magical time of the year again

Every year when I was a kid, after the morning ritual of Christmas presents, I would watch the same bad movie on one of the UHF independent channels. The rest of the TV was full of crap like the all-day christmas carol marathon on PBS or some Jesus movie or a parade, etc, but I always had to watch..

Santa Claus Conquers the Martians!

It has been brought to my attention that some of you haven’t seen it. Run along and do so, now.

Fortunately for my sanity, I think I've only seen the MST3K version.

But, yes, all should see.

That movie is definitely a classic. Given the MST3K treatment, it's even better.

Isn't there a part on there where Santa's talking to or about Jesus? i remember the MST guys saying about that movie "there's some weird theology going on here"

No, that's the insane Mexican Santa Claus movie they did (mentioned elsewhere by [livejournal.com profile] mcbrennan, I believe. It has scary mechanical reindeer.

Twisted Flicks (www.twistedflicks.com) does this every year. Red and I saw it a couple of weeks ago. It's pretty terrific. :)

LUB LUB LUB that movie. YEY!!!!!!!!!

[identity profile] mcbrennan.livejournal.com 2003-12-20 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
Seen it. One of my holiday musts. Along with this crazy-ass Mexican movie called "Santa Claus" in which a latino St. Nick battles satan for control of the earth's children. Swear to god.

My lifelong friend/nemesis [livejournal.com profile] capsuper insists the kid in "Santa Claus Conquers The Martians" is Pia Zadora. Could he be lying?

apparently not

IMDB says it's her.
