Niels Bohr didn't show
A night of Danes at D's. I was typing along on the Powerbook and was approached by a bluff, red-faced, thick-bodied Australian businessman who wanted to talk tech. Smart, nice guy who seemed to be doing interesting things with his company. We talked about the business, and our taste in technology, and eventually exchanged business cards.
His name? Soren Kierkegaard.
Me: You seem a bit more cheerful than the Soren Kierkegaard I remember.
Him: A bit fatter, too!
Bonus points because Cat had brought along a sssssssmokin' hot math vixen friend of hers from grad school who was herself a Dane, and was totally confused at the Australo-Dane situation.
