I'm going to start taking more pictures of bars

There are some great ones in Southern California, especially the ones built in the 1970s.

If you're ever in Crescent City, on the north California coast, the gateway to the Redwoods, try to locate a spot called Tugboat Annie's. I stopped there for a scotch back in 97, and Annie herself was kind enough to direct me and my lady friend to a cheap motel. (One of the barflies made a suggestion and she snapped at him, "they want a clean one!")
