The problem is that the entire agricultural *system* relies on huge quantities of energy that it cannot itself supply. Studies promoting ethanol are constructed in a manner very friendly to agribusiness. All of the studies you cite were paid for by the agribusiness lobby and have uncomfortable facts elided.
